Sustainability

Sustainability steering wheel
For Hansea, sustainability means taking responsibility – for our people, our passengers and communities, and our planet. We have brought these together in our sustainability strategy, known as the ‘Sustainability Steering Wheel’ . This steering wheel provides us with guidance and helps us make the right choices on the path towards a more sustainable Hansea. Hansea adopts a principles-based approach: actions are designed to maximise positive effects in one area without causing unintended negative impacts in other areas.
Our people
We aim to provide a pleasant, safe workplace where everyone can be themselves, feels valued and is given opportunities to grow.
Our passengers & communities
Road safety and passenger satisfaction are central to everything we do. We connect communities and strive to do so in the best possible way.
Our planet
We are working to reduce our impact on the environment. We focus on reducing CO₂ emissions, collecting and reusing water, preventing pollution and managing waste responsibly.

Sustainability Report
In 2026, Hansea will publish its first sustainability report. In it, we will set out where we stand today, the steps we are already taking, and the areas where we aim to improve further.
The report is not an end in itself, but a starting point for clearly tracking our progress and sharing it transparently with staff, customers, partners and the wider community.

UN Global Compact
Hansea has been a member of the UN Global Compact since 2025. Through this membership, we are committed to internationally recognised principles relating to human rights, labour standards, the environment and ethical business practices.
